We at Armia Systems are pleased to announce that we have recently been awarded ISO 9001:2015 status.
If you know what that means, you may be almost as thrilled as we are. However, the designation is a bit enigmatic for those who are unfamiliar with the award.
Keep reading to find out who grants this award, what Armia had to do to earn it, and what that means to you when you work with Armia Systems
What Is The ISO 9001 Award?
ISO 9001 is a status that is granted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The ISO is a group made up of members and experts that work to establish systems of industrial standardization. Some industries are required to meet certain standards to operate and others are not. Armia doesn’t need an award from the ISO to operate but we’re certainly proud to have one.
The award is granted to organizations that “consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements,” according to the ISO. Organizations must also “enhance customer satisfaction through the effective applications of the system, including improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.”
The whole title of the award is “ISO 9001:2015.” The last four digits refer to the year that the guidelines were published. The guidelines replaced a similar set published in 2008 and revised in 2009. Reviews of participating organizations are conducted every five years. That means that organizations need to maintain the high standards over five-year periods in order to receive the award.
The guidelines are written in such a way that they apply to businesses regardless of scale. This means that the award is not an award only for small businesses. It is also not an award only for huge corporations. Any organization can win the award regardless of size or resources. This puts differently sized businesses on a level playing field. Organizations can’t manipulate statistics or buy the award.
What Does ISO 9001 Award Mean For A Software Development Company?
So these guidelines are for general organizations. What does it mean for a software development company like Armia?
The guidelines look at the product or services that an organization offers. That means that Armia won the award in part because of our software development. Our software development meets customer needs year after year. It’s made legally and responsibly and delivered reliably.
We’ve been saying it. Our customers and clients have been saying it. Now the International Organization for Standardization is saying it: Armia gets the job done.

What Does The Award imply For Customer Support?
Of course, service doesn’t end with payment. Armia doesn’t see it that way and neither does the ISO. That’s why their award includes effective applications of the system and enhancement of the systems. Those terms really mean customer support.
At Armia, we know that if we are going to be successful our clients and customers need to be successful. That’s why we don’t sell a product and close the account. We stick around so that you can rely on our help as you put our products and services to work.
What Does The Award Imply About Data Security?
You can be confident about the products and services that we sell you. You can be confident with the customer support that we offer. But, what about the things that you give to us?
In order to provide the best services possible, we need certain information from you. That includes a lot of information that you don’t want just anyone to have access to, like your contact information and payment info. Handing that information out can be scary these days. After all, how often do you hear about a company mishandling or leaking data?
Data security is important to you, it’s important to us, and it’s important to the ISO. Data security is part of quality management. That’s why it’s one of the things that the ISO looks at when they give their awards, including the one that they just gave Armia. That means that you can trust your data when you work with Armia.
As software developers, we know a thing or two about data security. We keep your data safe from breach and deletion. We also keep your data in-house where other companies would reserve the right to sell your data to marketers and other companies. You trust us with your data, and we use it to help you. That’s it.
What It Means To Us.
The ISO does not grant their awards lightly. The process is long and once an organization has it there’s no guarantee that they will keep it. The only way to keep up this status is for the organization to continually offer great products and services, great customer support, and responsible management.
We at Armia are thrilled to have been awarded this status. We also know, however, that we have to keep up our hard work if we want to hold onto this status. That’s why we plan on continuing to offer great products and services, great support and great management. In another five years, the next time that the ISO releases this award, we hope to post another article just like this one saying that we held onto the award for another half-decade.
This article has talked a lot about what Armia has done to deserve this award. However, we didn’t earn it alone. As mentioned above, for us to be successful we need to be successful. Armia was able to prove to the ISO that we deserve this coveted status but we were only able to do that because of you, our customers and clients. We wouldn’t have a business without you. You trusted our business to help your business. You trusted our customer service and you trusted us to handle your data. By proving ourselves worthy of the trust that you gave us, Armia is able to grow.
This award isn’t just a feather in our hat, it allows us to reach out to new clients and customers. Being able to offer our products and services to more people gives us more resources. We can then use those resources to further expand our services and improve our customer support and security. We have moved to a new location to accommodate our growth and we believe in marching with the advancing technology to remain the best.
If you are considering a web or mobile application, consider an ISO 9001 certified company!
